Our Story, Your Vision

For over two decades, Concepts in Tile & Stone has helped homeowners, designers, and builders across Middle Tennessee bring their vision to life. As a locally owned, woman-owned, family-run business, we offer a curated selection of premium materials — marble, travertine, limestone, onyx, porcelain, and ceramic — sourced both locally for LEED-certified projects and from countries around the globe.

Our size is our advantage. As a small business, we're able to offer high-end products without the markup of a big-name brand, paired with the kind of tailored service larger companies simply can't provide. Every project begins with a detailed specification — pattern layout, finishing pieces, even grout color — so everyone involved shares a clear picture of the vision we've created together. We manage every detail, down to the smallest, so you can focus on living your life.

Our Process

Every project starts with a conversation. We'll sit down together to understand your style, your space, and your budget — then guide you through selections that bring it all together. If you don't have time to meet, send us your inspiration — Pinterest boards, Houzz saves, Instagram images, whatever captures your vision. We'll do the rest.

We'll curate three tile options within your budget, so all you have to do is choose your favorite. Don't have a tile allowance yet? We'll calculate one for you, based on your project's square footage and a mid-range price per square foot, so you know what to expect before it's time to order. No surprises, no guesswork.

Every selection comes with samples, so you can see and feel your choices in your own space before committing.

Meet the Founder

Founder, Melanie Gould, is a native Nashvillian with a degree in Interior Design from Middle Tennessee State University. She began her career in the tile industry right out of college — and it was on a customer job site that she met her husband, who owns a tile installation company. This was the foundation that started it all.

Together, two businesses were built while starting and raising a family of 3. As a young family, Melanie stepped away from the corporate side of the tile industry to be more present at home. With the support of customers, who still support us today, Concepts in Tile & Stone was born.

Now that our kids are a little older, we are able to devote ourselves to the industry and the clients we love working with.
